"Living in the will of God can be both daunting and exhilarating. But how do I know that I am indeed in God's will? How do I know what God expects of me and how do I know what pleases him?

"Questions like this highlight the need to know more about the Lord God, his word and his character. But in order to know the answers to these questions, we need to look for the purposes of God.

"Growing up in Africa, I was always fascinated by the Bushmen of Kalahari who were expert trackers. I loved watching documentaries abut how they would set out to track down a Kudu with no more than a skin filled with water for their journey and a bow and arrow for the hunt.

"They would walk for days tracking this beautiful buck, looking for signs along the way that would reveal the direction of the animal. Bushmen are expert trackers and would finally track down their trophy and take home food for a family feast.

"The Bible tells us that God knows the plans he has for us, which is most encouraging. However, the reality of it is HE knows the plans but WE don't!Just like these bushmen of southern Africa, you and I need to become expert trackers, tracking down these plans of God by watching for the signs of his move along the paths of life. We've got to listen for sounds of his voice; we've got to watch for his hand in our circumstances; we've got to acknowledge God in all we do and trust that he will direct us to our prize - his guidance, blessing and purposes.
